The San Francisco Symphony and Chorus, conducted by James Gaffigan, will perform three works for chorus and orchestra by Gordon Getty on June 20 and 22. St. Christopher, a setting of an early poem written by Getty, will receive its world premiere. The concert also includes the first live performance of the Intermezzo from his opera Goodbye, Mr. Chips. The third Getty work, The Old Man in the Snow, is a setting of another of Getty’s poems, premiered at Festival Napa Valley in 2024. Also on the program are Mozart’s Ave verum corpus, K. 618, and Verdi’s Requiem.
