Kent Nagano and Rachmaninoff International Orchestra present “Plump Jack” excerpts

The Rachmaninoff International Orchestra presents three excerpts from Gordon Getty’s first opera Plump Jack at their inaugural concerts on October 30 in Rolle, Switzerland. Established under the leadership of Mikhail Pletnev and conducted by Kent Nagano, the Rachmaninoff International Orchestra will perform the Overture to Plump Jack, as well as two of the opera’s arias: “No, My Good Lord” sung by baritone Lester Lynch, and “Hostess’s Aria” sung by soprano Alexandra Armantrading. The concert, which will commemorate the 150th anniversary of Sergei Rachmaninoff’s birth, will also include his Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini and his Piano Concerto No. 3, both with Mikhail Pletnev as piano soloist.
