Festival Napa Valley will feature music of Gordon Getty in three concerts during its 2025 season. On July 11, soprano Alexandra Armantrading, baritone Lester Lynch, and pianist Kevin Korth offer a recital that includes the world premiere of How Shall I Learn?—a new setting by Luna Pearl Woolf of Gordon Getty’s poem “Sonnet”—as well as the duet for Hostess and Falstaff from his opera Plump Jack. That same evening, mezzo-soprano Joyce DiDonato and Festival Orchestra Napa perform the world premiere orchestrations of songs from Getty’s The White Election, arranged by Luna Pearl Woolf. And on July 14, pianist Forrest Eimold plays a recital of Getty’s piano music. The program includes the world premiere of Impenitent Ultima and the West Coast premiere of Follow Me.
