Gordon Getty featured on new album by Young People’s Chorus of New York City
On July 1, 2026, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City released the complete soundtrack album for This Time Round, an award-winning documentary made during the pandemic by more than 600 young choristers recording their parts from their bedrooms, kitchens and living rooms across New York City. Francisco J. Núñez, Founder and Artistic Director of YPC, commisioned new works from 15 celebrated American composers, including David Lang, Paquito D’Rivera and Gordon Getty. Getty’s contribution, “I Sing to Use the Waiting,” sets Emily Dickinson’s poem as a canon.
