Gordon Getty inducted into OPERA America’s Opera Hall of Fame

On October 21, 2022, OPERA America held a dinner and ceremony at the University Club in New York City to honor the first inductees to the Opera Hall of Fame. The event had been postponed from the spring of 2022 because of the pandemic, so both 2021 and 2022 honorees were inducted in one ceremony. Gordon Getty was among the devoted and accomplished performers, administrators and supporters of opera honored that night, including Grace Bumbry, David Gockley, Simon Estes and Dawn Upshaw. The evening was hosted by Denise Graves and Marc Scorca, and many luminaries of the opera world presented and attended.
