Festival Napa Valley presents multiple compositions of Gordon Getty in 20th Anniversary season
Festival Napa Valley, celebrating its 20th Anniversary season, showcases a number of Gordon Getty’s compositions in multiple concerts. On July 10, the opening night program From Beethoven to Getty to Dylan brings together Time for Three, the Young People’s Chorus of New York City and the resident Festival Orchestra Napa, conducted by Stephanie Childress. YPC, led by founder and artistic director Francisco J. Núñez, will perform Getty’s Young America on the program. On July 17, Getty’s “Ewig Du,” from his Four Traditional Pieces, will be choregraphed and performed in A Night at the Ballet: from Swan Lake to The Stones. And on July 19, JoAnn Faletta leads the Festival Orchestra Napa in Getty’s Overture to Plump Jack in a program that also includes music of fellow American composers Bernstein, Copland and Gershwin. The season, which runs July 4-19, 2026, also includes the world premiere of Jake Heggie’s opera The Judgment of Paris, and a Classical Cabaret recital by soprano Lisa Delan, pianist Kevin Korth and friends, among many other highlights.
